BOOK WEEK ACTIVITIES UWCT celebrated Book Week on 20th-24th of March. It was such a great time for appreciating books and celebrating the joy of reading. -Dress up Day The student came in dressed up with their favourite book character. -Favourite Book (Show and Tell) Most of the children brought in their favourite book from home and shared to the class. We did 'show and tell' activity. -Snuggle Up and Read (Pyjamas Day) This activity reminded us the importance of bedtime stories. We had hot chocolate and some cookies. Some parents came and read to the children. -Gallery Walk We walked around the ECC and Primary buildings to find out what's their favourite story based on their door or board display. -Edible Book We visited the library and looked at the amazing food creations based on a book cover. It was very challenging not to touch them as they looked very interesting and smelled yummy! One of the most exciting events, was when they parents joined the games and enjoyed the day. Unit of Inquiry - Who we are The children were fascinated with the baby photos shown to them. Most of them couldn't recognise their own baby photo. GUESS WHO?

The students made their own poster and book by drawing a spider in different positions. ![]() WHO WE ARE - Unit of Inquiry The students were presented with baby items to explore and inquire. To provoke their thinking we asked them 'what they see, what they think and what are they wondering.’ Please take time to read their interesting responses posted in the classroom. To explore more on differences and similarities, Preschool students together with their Grade 3 buddies have taken selfies and discussed each other's facial features and recorded them on the Venn diagram. Who we are We revisited our unit of inquiry (UOI) last week and we will continue to inquire this in the next few weeks. This UOI is under the theme of ‘Who we are’. This is when the children will be inquiring into themselves, and their physical, social and emotional characteristics. They will be learning about how they are growing and changing and how there are similarities and differences between themselves and their peers. We watched the video of 'Color of Us', and we explore our skin colours as well as the colours of our peers. We mixed and matched different skin colours. Focus lines of inquiry: •Recognising similarities and differences between myself and others *Physical characteristics Swimming Class The children have shown so much progress and confidence at swimming with the help of Kru Lindsey, Kru Bow, Coach Emo, Coach Bee and Coach Nee.
