Final ECC Assembly We are so proud of how well the Orchids did on stage, performing 3 songs - 2 unaccompanied- and then the finale of Moana's How Far I'll Go. They all sang confidently and clearly. Well done! Phuket Farmer's Club field trip With a wet start to the week, our field trip had to be postponed, but thankfully the weather cleared and we were able to join Preschool H to visit the Phuket Farmer's Club and seeing their thriving organic garden. The children were inquisitive and interested in all they saw, learning about how spinach, beans, eggplants and passionfruit grow, to name a few! They planted some amaranth and eggplant seeds to take care of, and saw how a worm farm works. The Phuket Farmer's Club offers workshops, garden advice and delivery boxes of organic fruit and vegetables as well as other artisan products such as pickles and jams, eggs and smoked meats. If you are interested in joining, visit https://www.facebook.com/phuketfarmersclub/. Best of luck to our Preschool 2's going to kindergarten next year! They have been fantastic leaders and grown in their responsibility over the year and we will miss them! Luckily we still get to play with them during lunchtimes. A special goodbye to Dea who will be leaving UWCT.
Arts Week The children had so many new experiences last week and enjoyed creating many different kinds of art. They also enjoyed seeing all the different art at the art show, created by many different students. Comparing our hands to a gorilla's hand
We used a variety of methods to compare our hands with a gorilla's. Many of us made a handprint of our hand on top of the gorilla's and measured with cubes to see how many cubes tall our hand was compared to the gorilla's. Some of us saw how many handprints we could fit inside the gorilla's hand - the average was about 5. And one of us even filled up the gorilla's hand with 63 fingerprints! |
