Thank you parents for all your support and commitment over the year! We have thoroughly enjoyed teaching your children and sharing a part of their growth and development. Next year, we will be using Seesaw to communicate, rather than Weebly. Seesaw is an app that you can download on your phone and computer and get individual posts about your child. We hope that it will personalise the information we send to you and make it more accessible. Aside from being a way to communicate with parents each week, it will also form your child's portfolio. At the end of the year, all entries will be available to download. At the start of the school year, your child's class teacher will send you a code so you can gain access to their class page. Dates for your diary Thursday June 15th Last day of school. School finishes at 2:30. Friday June 16th - Monday August 14th School Holidays Tuesday August 15th 2017 Start of 1718 school year. Field Trips to Phuket Farmer's Club
With a wet start to the week, Preschool O's field trip had to be postponed, but thankfully the weather cleared and all classes were able to enjoy visiting the Phuket Farmer's Club and seeing their thriving organic garden. The children were inquisitive and interested in all they saw, learning about how spinach, beans, eggplants and passionfruit grow, to name a few! They planted some amaranth and eggplant seeds to take care of, and saw how a worm farm works. The Phuket Farmer's Club offers workshops, garden advice and delivery boxes of organic fruit and vegetables as well as other artisan products such as pickles and jams, eggs and smoked meats. They had fun doing all the activities and were proud to show their parents what they can do. Thank you for coming along and supporting them! Field trip to the Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre
It was a rainy morning when we visited the Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre in Khao Phra Thaew National Park. But despite the rain, the children enjoyed their trip and made the most out of it. Then we took it in turns to go and see where some of the gibbons live in large cages. We also did a rainforest treasure hunt and were able to find most things on our list without getting wet! MATHS: MEASURMENT Preschool have begun exploring measurement in mathematics. Measurement Outcomes: *Explore how multiples of the same unit can be used to measure. *Use numbers and/or words to describe and compare measurements. In Preschool, we tried to find out what students already know about measurement. We then provided them with a range of non-standard units (any item that can be used to measure something e.g. blocks, book, hand, shoe etc.) and asked them to measure the length and height of many objects.
